Even if you are not driving at this exceptional event, it's a great chance to see Porsches driven the way they were intended. Come see your friends, and sign up for the trackside banquet on Saturday night. One Giant Word of Caution:
The track - nearly two miles in length - provides a perfect opportunity to learn what you and your car can safely do! If you are new to road courses, you will experience first hand how to manage your high performance automobile in a controlled, closed environment and you will acquire skills that will enhance safer vehicle operation in everyday driving situations. Each novice will be assigned to an instructor and will be a DRIVER’S SCHOOL PARTICIPANT.
The event format is as follows:
Friday, September 19 is set aside for advanced Drivers Education. Prior track experience either at Grattan or other tracks is required on Friday. NO EXCEPTIONS! Novices are welcome to help and as a side benefit will learn more about the track.
Saturday, September 20, and Sunday, September 21, will be Drivers Education with full instruction and professional corner worker support. Novices will begin the day on Saturday with DRIVER’S SCHOOL before starting the track activity with their assigned instructor.
On Saturday night, on behalf of the WESTERN MICHIGAN REGION, we invite you to join us for a Trackside Banquet.
On Sunday, we will complete the Drivers Education by noon, followed by time trials in the afternoon. All experienced drivers are welcome to participate. Students with prior track experience must have Instructor signoff to participate in the Sunday time trials. Drivers with no track experience prior to this event are not eligible for the time trials.
During lunch time on both days, we will have low speed touring around the track. Cost will be a $20 donation which will go 100% to our WMR charity. Lunch will be available at the track on all three days.
The WESTERN MICHIGAN REGION has been conducting driver education events for over 30 years Our motto was, is, and will be to have fun, but SAFETY FIRST!!
