Where does it start? If from the Grand Rapids area or south of GR, meeting up with fellow caravaners at Rosie's Diner just off US-131 sometime early on the morning of June 14 (time to be determined). Driving together - just under the radar - as you head north to Traverse City and the first stop of the day, Clinch Park Marina in downtown Traverse City at noon. For those of you who may be in town prior to our 12 noon rendezvous time, you may wish to check out the farmers' market just across the street from our meeting place. Not only can you find local produce & greenery, there are some craft items and wonderful baked goods. The market is open from 8:00 a.m. to noon. We know a lot of the group stays out on hotel row, but alternative hotels closest to our home are as follows:
The Porsche Promenade will be lead by Dave Howard through wine country as we search out a suitable location for lunch time libations. After lunch, the tour will take us to the Leland Wine Festival. You may stay and enjoy the Festival, but for those that would like to do something different, we can head over to the Currie's on Silver Lake for pontoon rides, and if the weather cooperates, jet skiing. Be sure to bring a suit and towel. Fishermen in the club should be alerted to the great walleye and bass that can also be found in these waters. Formal cocktail hour will be at 5:30 and run to 7:00 p.m.. Dinner will be served at 7:15 p.m. The cost of the dinner will be $20.00 per person. We are looking forward to a great time!
