Grand Prix of Grattan

Registration is now open for this exciting September 19, 20 and 21 driver education event!  If you missed out last year, don't miss out this year!  Sign up now.

Charity Opportunity is Knocking

This is your chance to have your favorite charity designated as the "official" charity of WMR.  You could have the opportunity to promote and collect donations for your favorite cause! The Grattan DE event is looking for volunteers to help on Saturday and Sunday, September 20 and 21 from 8:00am until 1:30pm. As in the past, we have a need for volunteers to provide their choice of breakfast items for both mornings and to promote their Charity and collect Parade Lap (touring) donations at noon.

Applications for charities will be approved by the WMR Board.  This is a significant opportunity to create a substantial windfall for your cause!

Please contact Ted Blacklidge 616.866.4143 for more information.

IROC II at The Tire Rack

Do you really know how to drive your car?  Do you like to compete?  The IROC is a great series of driver education events, hosted by WMR and our sister regions, Motor-Stadt and Michiana.  The second event in the series - IROC II - will be held on August 23 on the great autocross track at The Tire Rack in South Bend.  Get ready for fun!  More info.

Saunter to the Shore

August Dinner Drive:  Time to relax, time to hang out with friends on the deck – cocktail in hand, time to get out the Porsche and just meander through the countryside.  It's time for Saunter to the Shore, the August 23rd dinner drive.  Join your hosts Barry and Candis Collick for a beautiful drive and a wonderful meal in Holland.  RSVPs are necessary.  More info.

Keep Us Posted

Attention Event Chairpersons!  Maximize the notice your event receives.  Be sure to send your information well in advance to both your Über Alles editor, and your Webmeister.  Gabi Blacklidge is the former, and Michael Betz is the latter.  We'll be sure to give your event the coverage it deserves!

What a Gimmick!

The Gimmick Rally was a fun, fun day for a large group of our members.  Ted and Gabriele Blacklidge hosted this third annual event and Dan Phillips sent us some pictures.  Check out their smiling faces here.

IROC I Results

Our IROC Lackey, Colin Carpenter, has tabulated the results and we've posted them for your review.  Your WMR friends made a great showing, representing over 50% of the field, collecting a large number of trophies with a "1" on them.  Lina Spross picked up the FTD trophy for ladies.  Way to go, team!

We Wanted YOU!

To attend Spring Up to Traverse City this year.  What?  You weren't there?  At least there are some great pictures for you to enjoy.  You really should plan to come up next year.

for SUTC 2009.

Riley's New Car

OK, this isn't really Riley's new car.  It's what is affectionately known as "Porsche No. 1." The story is that Dr. Ferdinand Porsche couldn't find the car of his dreams, so he built this one, starting in 1947.  This beautiful vehicle made its North American debut when it joined other notable and historic vehicles on August 14th at California’s famed Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.  Click on it to get a better look.
