Minutes of the West Michigan Region of the Porsche Club of America

October 3, 2005

Arnie called the meeting to order at 7:00PM at Delta Imports

Members present were: Arnie Axelrod, Dave Reid, Craig Ackerman, Brenda Hildon, Bob & Lorraine Malone, Kurt Wirth, Colin Carpenter, Barry Collick, Rick Riley

Minutes: Approved.

Treasurer: Approved.

Webmaster: No report.

Membership: Barry Collick reported that National will compile membership data on the first business day of each month. Regional Membership chairs are sent the information electronically on the 3rd business day of each month. Hard copies are mailed on that day for backup. This month’s update will be available in the next Uber and on the Web.

Advertising: No report

UBER: Barry C. reported that Donovan Kindle has offered to write an on-going series of articles for the Uber. The first article will run in the November issue and he has enough material for 12 issues. The column will be promoted as the “Click and Clack of Stuttgart”. 289 issues of the Uber are currently being mailed.

Insurance: Kurt reported that insurance for the color tour is on the way.

IROC: We are in need of a new IROC rep.

Activities: Lorraine mentioned the upcoming color tour on Oct. 15th, and November 9th Dinner Drive at the Ichiban Restaurant.

Enthusiast Award Report: No report

PRESIDENT’S REPORT:

Euro Art Gallery and Trading is producing a series of 12 paintings depicting the history of Porsche cars. Each painting will be presented individually and may be viewed live on the internet until the series of 12 is complete. The first painting is 356/1/1948 by Artist: Joachim Lehrer. For each painting, 356 hand-signed, limited-edition prints will be made available. For more information go to:

Our Zone 4 rep., Roy Wilkinson, requested information regarding our upcoming Color Tour.

Arnie has expressed interest to Roy in having the Regional Procedures Manual put on CDRom.

OLD BUSINESS:

Planning Meeting: November 7th @ Pietro’s.

September Dinner Drive – The Daily Grill: Hosted by Rick Riley. Great food/service enjoyed by all 23 participants.

Grattan DE: A successful event, thoroughly enjoyed by all even with the rain on Sunday. 83 cars participated on Saturday. The Grattan Committee will be holding their exit meeting October 6th to discuss this year’s event and talk about next year’s event. The committee hopes to secure a date in August next year, but if the August date is not available, the event will be held in September.

Nominating Committee: Looking for people interested in any of the board positions.

NEW BUSINESS:

Make a Wish: We have collected $1330.00 in donations and the Board approved raising the amount to $2000.00. Craig A. will present a check to the Make a Wish representative at our Planning Meeting in November.

October Color Tour 10/5: Hosted by Duane & Brenda Weed. Information available on the Web and in the Uber.

November Dinner Drive 11/9: Hosted by Dave Reid. Ichiban Restaurant in Grand Rapids. Information on the Web and in the Uber.

OPEN FORUM

The Board approved a proposal for the club to purchase last year’s Grattan DVD’s (9@$10 ea.) for door prize give-a-ways at WinterFest.

Bob Malone may have a photo available for raffle at WinterFest.

Persons interested in facilitating Charity fundraising activities for 2006 should contact Arnie Axelrod.
