Minutes of the West Michigan Region of the Porsche Club of America
June 5, 2006
David called the meeting to order at 7:05PM at Delta Imports
Members present were: David Reid, Rick Riley, Amber Door, Brenda Hildon, Candis
Collick, Kurt Wirth, Doug Tepper
Minutes: Approved.
Treasurer: Approved. We are still awaiting payment from several
advertisers. Amber will contact the Grand Rapids Auto Auction to see if they
still have our IROC cones.
Webmaster: No report.
Membership: Candis reported 8 new members, 0 transfers, 6 non-renewals,
28 renewals. 245 Primary, 206 Affiliates for a total membership of 451.
Advertising: No report.
UBER: Candis requested an additional page (4 pages of print) for the Uber
to accommodate additional advertisers and text. The request was unanimously
approved. The Grattan tech sheet and registration will be in the next issue.
Insurance: Kurt has insurance paperwork for Spring Up and the Ionia IROC
in the pipeline. Insurance for the Gilmore event will not be necessary. Kurt
will also get insurance for the Collick’s August Dinner Drive.
Driving Events: IROC is scheduled for August 6th@ the Ionia Fairgrounds.
Doug Tepper is working with TJ Thatcher who will eventually manage the IROC
events. There will be a tire give-away for the participants of Grattan. There is
availability to anyone who’d like to facilitate the Charity Touring event during
the Grattan weekend. The person can choose their charity, advertise the charity
in the Uber prior to Grattan as well as at the event, handle the collection of
funds and present them to the charity of choice on behalf of the club. This
person will be required to attend the Grattan event to oversee the collection of
the funds.
Enthusiast Award Report: No report.
PRESIDENT’S REPORT: David presented a couple of ideas for the new logo.
More suggestions were made and he will bring a new sample at a later date.
NEW BUSINESS:
June 24 Spring Up to Traverse City – Hosted by the Denny and Joyce Weise. Island
Theme w/band. The banner for Spring Up was given to Ted Blacklidge, and he will
get it to the Weises.
July 19 Gilmore event – hosted by Larry and Earlene Baum. This will be a
multi-region event with MSR and MIR.
August: Saunter to the Shore – Hosted by Barry and Candis Collick. More details
to follow.
OLD BUSINESS:
The Rally, hosted by Ted & Gabi Blacklidge, was a success despite periods of
rain. Great fun was had by all.
Amber suggested making new name tags available to those who request them, rather
than the entire membership. Once the new logo has been approved, the name tags
will be offered for a nominal fee to those that request one. More details will
follow as they become available.
