Minutes of the West Michigan Region of the Porsche Club of America

April 7, 2008

The meeting was started at 7:06, Delta Imports, Grand Rapids. 

In attendance: Ted & Gabi Blacklidge, Dan Phillips, Amber Door, Rick Riley, Kurt Wirth, Paul & Renee Krapp, Eric & Lina Spross, Colin Carpenter

Minutes:  Approved

Treasurer’s Report: Approved.  Amber reported that every region received an extra rebate of $2 per primary member from PCA National due to an excess in budget.

Webmaster Report: Webmaster will be upgrading software shortly.

Membership Report: Amber:  Primary Members: 260.  Affiliate Members: 213. Total: 473.  Four New Members (Note: see p 6).  No Transfers In; One Transfer Out; 3 Non-renewals; 16 Renewals.  Several members of other clubs have asked for our schedule in order to participate with our Region.  Lina is working on updating Enthusiast’s Points. 

Advertising Report: New Delta Ad will be supplied soon.

Uber Report:  Gabi reported the April Uber had shown up in mailboxes already.  There was some Calendar discussion on the Appetizer Party date being proposed by Konig’s (as a substitute for Friday’s) and September Dinner Drive to be hosted by Krapp’s. 

Insurance:  Kurt reported the insurance papers for the May DD have been mailed.

Driving Events:  Ted reported confusion over insurance pricing for Grattan DE and Timed Trial events. He will follow up with PCA.  The Committee will look at entrance fee pricing at the first meeting.  There was also discussion regarding acceptable helmets. 

Old Business

Kurt reported on the March Dinner Drive at Grattan Bar with 29 participants.

Ted and Amber reported on the March President’s Meeting in Ohio. 

 New Business:

The April Dinner Drive will feature a Chili Cook-Off at Schieble’s.

Gabi read a notice from Roy Wilkinson re the deadline for PCA Enthusiast of the Year nominations.

Ted read information about an April Seminar being held in Chicago on Motorsport Waivers and Liability issues.

Ted also read information about a new Automotive Internet Country Club, BUMM

Amber reported on the Munk’s Motors Detailing Seminar on May 10th.
