Minutes of the West Michigan Region of the Porsche Club of America

September 14, 2009

Delta Imports, Grand Rapids – Meeting was called to order by Ted Blacklidge at 7:07pm. Members present were: Ted Blacklidge, Dan Phillips, Amber Door, Brenda Hildon-Kaempf, Rick Riley, Kurt Wirth, Colin Carpenter, and Arnie Axelrod.

Minutes: Approved.

Treasurers Report: Approved.

Webmaster: Web page is up-to-date. Everything looks great!

Membership Report: 245 Primary Members, 197 Affiliate Members – total 442. New members are: Ethan Powsner, Grand Rapids, ’83 911sc; Clifford Sly, Grand Haven, ’99 Boxster; Alfred Woody, Norton Shores, ’84 944. Transfers In: 0. Transfers Out: 0. Non-renewals: 6, Renewals: 10.

Advertising: From Dan: We have not yet received a pdf for the Delta ad that separates the text from the photo. We’ve received an updated photo for the Deming’s ad.

Uber: Completed August 28. Proof received from the printer the following Tuesday. Looks great!

Insurance: Insurance is set for Grattan. Kurt is working on the insurance for the Color Tour.

Driving Events:

Grattan DE – 37 participants are registered/paid. 7 are registered/unpaid. Amber will send an email blast out as a reminder.

Old Business:

	IROC – Gorgeous day. Nice turn-out. Thanks to all who helped. We may consider another date next year – perhaps in August.
	Golf Outing at Egypt Valley, August 7 – Hosted by Arnie Axelrod. Great event. 8 participants. Beautiful day.
	Saunter to the Shore, August 22 – Hosted by Barry and Candis Collick. Great turnout. Nice drive and great camaraderie at Boatwerks in Holland.
	Metro Cruise, August 28/29 – Friday event at Delta was outstanding. 25 cars. About 12-15 participants on Saturday.

New Business:

· Escape, October 1-4 – Dayton OH. Pre-registration is light. Asking for $50 per region to support a flyover at the end of Escape. The motion to donate $50 was approved by members present.

· Color Tour - Information on the website and in the Uber.

· November Planning Meeting, November 2 – Pietro’s restaurant, Grand Rapids. The Club is looking to fill some vacant board positions.

· Appetizer Party, December 5 – Hosted by the Cznaropys. Information will be posted the website and in the Uber.

· 50^th Anniversary – Planning is underway. We need volunteers! A suggestion was made to send a letter or include an insert in the Uber to remind everyone about the event. Kurt has volunteered for the Friday afternoon Dinner Drive. Randy Portluri has also volunteered to help.
